Inleiding

With the relaunch of the Swiss Snow app, the user experience is given a stronger focus and allows users to quickly find relevant information on desired winter resorts. The new app will build on existing strengths, creating recognition for existing app users and maintaining a high app rating in the stores.

User-Centered

The Swiss Snow app impresses with its holistic user experience. During the redesign, user feedback in the app stores was evaluated, additional user tests and interviews were conducted, and the insights were incorporated into the concept. We will continue to rely on user feedback in the future. Users now ensure that the data quality is improved with every snow report rating.

Combination of emotionality and simplicity

The emotionality as well as the relation to the unique Swiss winter landscape are the focus of the app. It was designed with large images, illustrations, icons and colours. The color choice is meant to suggest winter and the deliberately chosen red color shows the interaction possibilities. Thanks to an otherwise simple choice of colours, interactions are brought into focus in a user-friendly way. Likewise, the simplicity is noticeable in the navigation. There are only the following three main menu items: Dashboard, Discover and Favourites.

User Journey

After the redesign, the Swiss Snow app looks fresh and modern. In addition, new, breathtaking and high-resolution 360° webcams have been integrated. The focus is placed on intuitive user guidance, customisation and interaction with the app. The new navigation points make it much easier for users to find their way around and retrieve their data quickly and easily. In addition, favourite winter locations can be selected so that the content is personal and relevant to the individual user. For example, a cross-country skier can look only at trail temperatures, trail conditions, and weather.

High Performance

The data displayed is drawn from Switzerland Tourism's CRM and should be understandable, simple and accessible in the app. The presentation of the large amount of data was a big challenge and raised some questions: How do we structure the data for the end user? How do we present the data optimally in the app? How do we deal with loading times?

The new app builds on the high performance of the existing app and offers both a smooth user experience as well as short loading times.
