Anniversary weekend of the Stadtcasino Basel with music, dance, discussions, exhibitions, guided tours and culinary delights.
From Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, 2026, the Stadtcasino Basel will open its doors for a three-day anniversary weekend. The program includes music, dance, discussions, exhibitions, guided tours, culinary delights and other formats throughout the concert hall. The occasion is the 200th anniversary of the Stadtcasino Basel and 150 years of the music hall.
Program:
The anniversary will begin on Friday, 12 June 2026, with a one-day program focusing on history, architecture, acoustics, music history, monument preservation, urban development and social and cultural topics. Exhibitions, guided tours, lectures and panel discussions are planned that will shed light on the Stadtcasino Basel from different perspectives. In the evening, the concert hall will be transformed into a big anniversary night with three dance floors, live bands, DJs, standard dancing, lounges and food on offer in the foyers and outside.
Saturday, June 13, 2026, will be dedicated to the musical diversity of the region. Throughout the day, orchestras, institutions and event organizers will present short musical contributions in various styles, formats and line-ups. There will also be guided tours of the Stadtcasino as well as stands from partners and regular customers inviting visitors to exchange ideas. In the evening, an open stage offers young artists the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.
On Sunday, 14 June 2026, the program will continue with further short concerts, performances, guided tours and insights from partners. There will also be an afternoon of games for young and old. With board games, playful casino elements in cooperation with the Grand Casino Basel and hands-on activities, the Stadtcasino will become a cross-generational meeting place.
