Inleiding
An exploration of the theme of the archive, bringing together FOCALE’s iconic venue and its previous, widely acclaimed series, “A Home With No Roof”.
The FOCALE gallery invites Sara De Brito Faustino to present “A Home With No Roof” as a carte blanche exhibition. The exhibition functions as an anticipated retrospective, in which the artist revisits her previous project by transforming it. Conceived as a move, it reactivates fragments of her work, installed in the gallery’s basement, evoking a memory-cellar where traces of the past overlap.
True to her site-specific approach, Sara explores the relationship between space, memory and intimacy, blurring the boundaries between private and public. This new project, “Under A Home With No Roof”, never fully reveals the original work, but offers it a form of symbolic closure.
Born in 1999 (NL/PT) and a graduate of ECAL, Sara lives in Lausanne. Her work questions narratives and spaces through visual and material installations. Following her first solo exhibition in 2024, she has established herself on the art scene with several exhibitions in Switzerland and across Europe, as well as nominations and participation in major events such as FOAM Talent 2026 and the Rencontres d’Arles.
