VICTOR HUGO | VIVRE !
Overzicht
Inleiding
Michel Voïta
The body of work comprises more than six million words, between 4,000 and 4,500 poems, and nearly 600 biographies in French… A towering figure, whose body of work is impossible to fully present: a tireless political activist, painter, playwright, novelist (among other things)…“Vivre!” here should be understood as a leisurely stroll, letting oneself be lulled by the rhythmic melody of the alexandrines, occasionally dazzled by the visionary tones of the texts, and carried away by extraordinary stories, reflections, and notes that this great man jotted down in his daily life. “ “The heaviest burden is to exist without living,” wrote Victor Hugo. Michel Voïta accompanies him with a selection of texts that address—either directly or indirectly—the difficult art of LIVING, from childhood to the art of being a grandfather. With Victor Hugo, Michel Voïta continues his magnificent series of staged readings dedicated to great authors. An event to be fully lived!
