Introdução
O Instituto de Ornitologia em Sempach é o centro suíço de excelência para todos os assuntos relativos a espécies nativas de aves. As principais responsabilidades deste instituto privado, financiado por doações, incluem a preservação de espécies, programas educacionais e projetos de pesquisa.
An interactive exhibit, a bird cinema, a mechanical theatre about birdcalls, and a wildlife garden on the shores of Lake Sempach are your invitation to visit the local world of birds. Visitors will receive a ring and after the exhibit they will be assigned to their personal species of bird with the help of the exclusive ring system. A cafeteria and a shop are also available to the visitors. The centre is housed in the first three-story mud-walled house in Switzerland, a ground-breaking achievement in building ecology.
