On the trail of old Saanen: With the building of the railway (MOB) in 1905, the Saanenland has developed into a tourist region. In the last hundred years the freedom loving subjects of Count von Greyerz have become ski instructors, hoteliers and entrepreneurs. However, traditional craftsmenship and Alpine farming, cattle breeding and cheese production are still an important branch of this region's industry. The Museum of the Countryside Saanen tells the history of the Saanenland in a vivid way. It's worth a visit!
