Samedan Mineral Baths & Spa can be found in the middle of the historical village centre of Samedan, right on the main square and adjoining the listed church. It is the first vertical mineral baths in Switzerland and, in addition to the vertical arrangement of the various baths, is notable mainly for the unique work of architects Miller & Maranta. The building is characterised by a wide variety of views, whether looking inward, outward or through the structure, as well as incident light and ambient moods as the guest wanders through a varied world of baths and steam rooms as if in a mountain labyrinth. The bathing experience extends over a total of five floors up to the top floor with the outdoor bath directly beneath the church tower, affording a view of the mountains. The mineral water comes from the spa’s own spring, which comes from directly below the bath at a depth of 35 metres and, thanks to its composition, is considered to have healing properties.
Getting there: By train to Samedan, then on foot, or by car (Bellevue parking garage).
