A special atmosphere awaits you at Casa Santo Stefano, a retreat hotel which comprises two residences built in the 18th century. The buildings were tastefully renovated in typical «Tessiner» style. Casa Uva - the «Grape» house, was originally owned by a local doctor; Casa Erbe, the «Herb» house, was at one time a pastry and bakery shop and an Osteria. The well-kempt and tastefully decorated rooms offer the perfect setting for a relaxing - or active - retreat. Casa Uva and Casa Erbe provide the ideal setting for individual or family holidays, group visits, seminars and special events. Authentic Ticino ambiance in three historic houses from the 18th century, with sweeping views to the south and 300 kilometres of hiking paths through the surrounding chestnut forests, past natural streams and waterfalls. Since 2024, Casa Santo Stefano has been run with a focus on personalised hospitality, mindful simplicity and respect for its natural surroundings. Guests can enjoy a homemade vegetarian breakfast with regional and organic products. Experienced teachers offer workshops and selected retreats – from yoga and mindfulness to movement and creative expression.

Casa Santo Stefano is located in Miglieglia (710 m), a small, picturesque Ticino village at the foot of Monte Lema (1,624 m), 16 km from Lugano. Set near the edge of the village, with its narrow, romantic, stone-cobbled alleys, the Albergo & Retreat extends across three lovingly restored historic Ticino houses with magnificent views south over the rolling landscape of Malcantone.

Today, Casa Santo Stefano is a peaceful retreat for individual guests as well as participants in carefully selected workshops and retreats. The programmes are led by external teachers and, in some cases, by the Casa Santo Stefano team. They create space for movement, mindfulness, creativity and personal development. At the same time, the surrounding landscape invites guests to hike, read, write or simply enjoy time in nature. Thoughtful simplicity, personalised hospitality and a warm, unhurried atmosphere define the experience.
