An Authentic Alpine Retreat in the Heart of Ticino
Located at 2,066 meters above sea level, surrounded by alpine pastures and overlooking the
dramatic peaks of the Torroni range, Capanna Cava is a hidden gem for hikers seeking nature,
tranquility, and adventure.
After a scenic hike through the forest, the hut welcomes up to 34 guests in two dormitories (one with
18 beds and one with 16 bunk beds). Equipped with wood and gas stoves, solar-powered lighting,
and basic facilities, the hut is guarded from mid-June to late September, offering a warm and friendly
mountain experience.
During the winter months, only the small winter shelter with 5 beds remains accessible ideal for
solitude seekers and lovers of the quiet snowy Alps. Even when unguarded, cooking is possible
using gas stoves.
