The Fiescheralp, at 2,212 m.a.s.l., is one of the world's best take-off points thanks to good thermals from the nearby glaciers and mountainsides. Pilots soar as high as 3,000 m.a.s.l. from here. Eye-to-eye with the stunning peaks and with a 2,000 m drop to the valley floor, gliders experience awe-inspiring freedom. Novices should try their hand in winter, when constant air movements ensure a smooth flight.
