Charming family hotel offering 26 rustic Alpine rooms with a balcony or terrace and mountain views. Seasonal and sophisticated menu. Wellness, free access to the Grindelwald sports centre including indoor pool and ice rink. Games room for children and teenagers. Close to the cable car station, bus stop in front of the hotel, pick-up service from the train station. In good snow conditions, a piste runs almost to the hotel itself.

Description

The Hotel Gletschergarten was built as a family home in 1899 and has grown into a comfortable family hotel over the last century. The 4th generation of the Michel familiy now take great delight in running the house and taking personal care of their guests. The breakfast and 4-course half-board menu taste especially good in the dining room with glorious views over the surrounding mountains. The rustic Kaminstube invites you to linger awhile, as do all the other rooms, of course. In the summer the house’s dazzling display of flowers is admired all around. All rooms have bath/WC or shower/WC, telephone, cable TV, radio, safe and balcony. Sauna, steam bath and relaxation area, Internet corner, Wireless LAN, wash & dry, table tennis, billiards and table football are also among the facilities.
1km up the main street from the station, it is the second hotel on the left side, immediately after the town church.

Chalet hotel from the pioneering days of Alpine tourism at the foot of the imposing Eiger north face. It is run by the fourth generation of family owners, who still personally serve breakfast to this day. Regionally inspired cuisine and three cosy lounges with views of the glaciers and mountains. The “Rotmoosstuba” has the atmosphere of a rustic Alpine hut. Impressive floral arrangements on the balconies in summer. Guests can spend the evenings by the lounge fireplace.
