Naturally. Pure. Be a guest The Berghotel Mettmen is located in Glarnerland, in the middle of the Freiberg Kärpf at 1600 m above sea level. We are an alpine inn with a cozy restaurant right at the mountain station of the Kies-Mettmen cable car and near the Mettmensee. In 2016, today's mountain hotel was rebuilt on the foundations of the former workers' accommodation - it was used to build the dam. The architecture of the house speaks with clear forms and reduced materials. The view of the valley is breathtaking. The Berghotel Mettmen can be seen from afar and shines as a regional lighthouse at night all the way to the canton's capital.

Getting there

Arrival with Park & Ride from Schwanden In summer 2023, the valley station of the Kies-Mettmen cable car only can be reached via Park & Ride from Schwanden. Arrival by car is not possible. The parking spaces in Däniberg are signposted from Schwanden. The Niederentalstrasse will be closed for a longer period of time due to a landslide.
