Chasseral at a glance
Enjoy 360° panoramic views on the Chasseral ridge. To the north, the views extend over the typical wooded areas of the Jura and the largest wind farm in Switzerland, between Mont-Crosin and Mont-Soleil. On the south side, visitors can admire the beauty of the Three Lakes (Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten) against the backdrop of the majestic Alps.
The Chasseral is also a paradise for more adventurous types. Whatever the season, you’ll find something to your taste. In summer, it is the perfect place for hiking. The Chasseral is the starting point for the 8th stage of the Chemin des Crêtes du Jura, which leads into Val-de-Ruz. This gently sloping path is very popular with families. The bravest will embark on the adventure of reaching the antenna of the Chasseral via the Combe-Grède nature reserve, a strenuous climb involving ladders to reach the final destination.
In winter, the Chasseral is the ideal place for cross-country skiing on the trails of the Nordic Centre in Les Prés-d'Orvin. The various trails are also suitable for snowshoeing, while skiers can ski down the slopes of the Savagnières, Nods and Prés-d'Orvin areas
But the Chasseral is also a pristine natural amenity and is located in the heart of the Chasseral Nature Park.
Visitors can expect a warm welcome in the traditional farmsteads of the Bernese Jura found all over this fertile landscape, where they can try tasty dishes made using local produce.
