Mönch (4,107m a.s.l.)
Hint
Intro
As part of the three famous peaks, the Mönch is extremely popular, and not just with mountaineers. But the mountain is very challenging and should not be underestimated, no matter how many visitors it has.
Description
High up on the peak of the 4,107-metre Mönch are three striking ridge routes. All three are technically very challenging. In spite of this, this four-thousander is a popular destination for mountaineers. Partly because the starting point – the Jungfraujoch – is easily accessible thanks to the Jungfrau Railway. The sea of peaks is absolutely captivating: The Jungfrau, the Finsteraarhorn and the Aletsch area stretch out below climbers. Together with the Eiger and the Jungfrau, the Mönch is part of Switzerland’s big three.
