Intro
The unspoilt countryside of Visperterminen, the Heida wine village at the entrance to the Visper valley, which lies 1,378m above sea level, is a paradise for walkers and offers a fantastic view of the gleaming white 4,000m peaks of the Valais and Bernese Alps.
Description
The people of the village still celebrate their traditions and customs, with the annual Corpus Christi procession, for example, always attracting many visitors. Sports events in the village are also very popular. At the end of the season the traditional alpine "Alex Berchtold memorial slalom" takes place, a race in which many a world cup winner has gained victory.
Winter
The exciting 7km-long sledging slope leading from Giw to Visperterminen is a fun adventure for the whole family. Every Friday the week's sledging anecdotes are recounted in a romantic ambiance combined with a delicious fondue. Those looking for more peace and quiet can fully appreciate nature on the 15km-long winter hiking paths away from all the noise and activity or admire the magical, unspoilt winter scenery on a snowshoe hike. There are 12 kilometres of signposted snowshoe trails as well as our unique snowshoe trail on the theme of tracks in the snow.
Summer
You can while away some peaceful hours in the village playing minigolf, taking a guided tour of the village museum or winetasting.
