What could be more Swiss than eating fondue in a cable car? The cheese dish tastes even more sensational swinging through the clouds by candlelight.
"Switzerland is the authority when it comes to cable cars and cheese. So how can you combine these two traditional assets? By enjoying a fondue on the cableway, of course. What could be more romantic? In the evening, the guests board the fondue cable car in the village of Saas-Fee from 6:30 p.m. From 1,800m above sea level, the guests journey through the dark to the Spielboden at 2,448m above sea level. Along the way, they can sample a delicious cheese fondue served with all the accompaniments: Valais white wine, tea, schnapps and a dainty dessert are all included in the price. The nightly fondue ride takes around one hour. The cable car is equipped with blankets and furs to ensure nobody gets too cold. And if it’s romance you’re looking for, just picture a candlelit cable car for two.
