Adventure Mountain Sonnenberg
Overview
Intro
The Sonnenberg cogwheel train, called the “Little Blue Train,” whisks visitors in a few minutes to the multifaceted adventure mountain near Kriens, a leisure paradise and recreational area.
The Sonnenberg (700 meters above sea level) is the “small” local mountain to the north of Kriens. Due to its southern exposure, the Sonnenberg’s name, “Sun Mountain”, is certainly justified. The nostalgic train, which is over 100 years old, starts in the heart of Kriens and ascends the Sonnenberg, where visitors find a diverse leisure program: Vitaparcours (exercise trail), children’s playgrounds, walking paths and many picnic spots with barbeque pits. In the midst of this fascinating, almost untouched nature, visitors can enjoy the imposing panoramic view of the mountains, Lake Lucerne, Kriens and the Greater Lucerne area.
