Sparse forests, snow-covered fields and moors, rolling hills and purest cross-country enjoyment is the best way to describe the surroundings of Appenzell’s Gais cross-country center.
The cross-country area lies at 900 m altitude and is easily reached by either car or public transport. A more than 30-kilometer long trail, suitable for both classic cross-country skiing and skating, leads over meadows and moors of uniquely beautiful snowy landscapes here. And short climbs, easy descents and flat stretches offer plenty of variety.
