Intro
The Champéry resort lies at the far end of the romantic Val d'Illiez valley – from where already long ago a cableway made its way direction Croix de Culet, at 927 meters above the village.
Today you can get out of the train and straight into the large carriages of the cableway to Planachaux (Croix de Culet) – and the jagged peaks of the Dents du Midi opposite never cease to amaze.
Bikers get their thrills conquering the 300 kilometers of signposted stretches in the Bikepark – while from Planachaux, hikers delight in exploring the Ripaille, Col de Cou and Barme regions before turning back to Champéry via Grand Paradis.

Train to Aigle, narrow gauge train via Monthey and through the Val d'Illiez as far as the Champéry valley station
View: Over the Val d'Illiez and across the Rhone Valley to Diablerets, over Champéry and the Dents du Midi, from the Cime de l'Est to the Haute Cime, Dent de Barme and Col de Bretolet – from where migrant birds can be watched, to the cliffs of the Portes du Soleil
Attractions: Bikepark.ch and additional mountain-bike stretches in the Portes du Soleil, special mountain restaurants with views of the close Dents du Midi
