August 1 Celebration 2026

Intro
This year’s August 1st celebration will take place in Mollis starting at 10:30 a.m. In case of inclement weather: at the multipurpose hall/Info, July 31, 2026, starting at 7:00 p.m. at www.vvmollis.ch
In alternation with the Näfels Tourist Association, the Mollis Tourist Association will host the 2026 National Day celebration for the two villages of Mollis and Näfels in Mollis.
Event Schedule:
10:30 a.m. Food and beverage stand
11:00 a.m. Opening ceremony with the Mollis Music Society
11:15 a.m. Welcome address by the President of the VVM
11:30 a.m. August 1st Speech
Ms. Sabine Steinmann, Oberurnen
County Councilor, Director of the Alzheimer’s Dementia Center in Glarus
National Anthem / Mollis Music Society
12:15 p.m. Refreshments provided by the VVM
All attendees will receive a free bratwurst or cervelat with bread and coffee
A cozy get-together
