Janus is a male Testudo graeca Greek tortoise with two heads. Each head has an independent brain. The right head is dominant, while the left is more phlegmatic. This sometimes complicates the animal's movements, since the two heads don't always agree on which direction to take!

In the wild, Janus wouldn't have survived, as it doesn't have the space to protect itself from predators by hiding its heads and legs in its carapace.
