Intro

Ausstellung Sammlung Elsbeth Kasser

Die Sammlung Elsbeth Kasser umfasst über hundert Aquarelle und Zeichnungen, die von jüdischen Künstlern und Künstlerinnen während des Zweiten Weltkriegs im französischen Internierungslager Gurs entstanden sind. Die Bilder legen Zeugnis ab von den unmenschlichen Verhältnissen im Lager und dem Horror des Alltags. Die Schweizerin Elsbeth Kasser hat in diesem Lager mit grosser Zivilcourage Hilfe geleistet. Sie setzte Zeichen der Menschlichkeit an diesem grauenvollen Ort. Die Ausstellung und zahlreiche Begleitveranstaltungen wollen einen Beitrag zum Dialog über Antisemitismus und Diskriminierung damals und heute leisten.
