In the wild Mühlental north of Schaffhausen's old town, a dynamic industry with global reach emerged around 200 years ago. Over the past 20 years, part of the historic industrial buildings, the Stahlgiesserei, has been transformed into a diverse residential, commercial and service district - a strong example of modern urban development. On this guided tour through the Stahlgiesserei, learn more on site about contemporary urban architecture as well as the industrial history of Schaffhausen from 1800 to the present day.
