Er soll noch heute durch das Valeistobel streifen...

Ein riesiger, schwarzer Hund mit einem glühenden Auge auf der Stirn und einem Schlüsselbund um den Hals. Die Sage vom Valeishund schreckt das Sarganserland seit Jahrhunderten auf. Und sie verstummt nicht.

Das Museum Sarganserland nimmt die Spur auf. In einer Sonderausstellung mit Exponaten, Augenzeugenberichten, einem Hörbeitrag, der die Hintergründe historisch einordnet, sowie einem künstlerischen Kurzfilm geht es der Herkunft und dem Geheimnis dieser unheimlichen Gestalt nach. Was steckt hinter der Erscheinung?

Besonderes Highlight: Ausgestellt ist der Schiedsspruch von 1459 – und damit der historische Kern der Sage. Herzlichen Dank an die Ortsgemeinde Wangs, die dieses wichtige Dokument erstmals öffentlich zeigt.

Die Ausstellung ist bis zum 31. Oktober im Museum besuchbar (normaler Museumseintritt).
