The Tug-of-War in Youth Sports: How Much Competitive Sports Is Healthy for Our Children?
Intense sports foster discipline, team spirit, and fitness—but where is the line between healthy youth development and physical and mental overload? On Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., Gommer Sport invites you to an informative keynote presentation followed by a panel discussion.
With a special focus on cross-country skiing, the event will examine the crucial interplay in the lives of young athletes: What shared responsibilities and opportunities arise for parents, coaches, and teachers to best balance training, school, and recovery in everyday life?
The approximately 45-minute evening will be led by renowned sports scientist and expert in talent development Prof. em. Dr. Achim Conzelmann (University of Bern). Take advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable insights and engage directly with experts and like-minded individuals during the discussion that follows.
