Jaun Waterfall
Overview
Intro
The waterfall near Jaun remained an unsolved mystery for many years. No one knew where the vast quantities of water came from. In June, up to 6,000 litres of water flow over the Jaun waterfall every second – it is an exceptional thing of natural beauty.
In 1928, the spring water in a stream 15 kilometres away in the “Les Morteys” valley was dyed, and it then slowly seeped into the earth. Eleven days later, after travelling via an underground river, the dyed water made a surprise appearance at the Jaun waterfall. And thus the mystery of the water’s source was solved.
The waterfall lies directly across from the compactly built village centre of Jaun with its splendid wooden houses, and flows down into the Jaunbach River.
If you don't mind the thundering roar of the water, a catwalk leads almost right into the waterfall itself, so you can feel the droplets in the air. It is even more magical in the evening. The waterfall is lit up, and on a winter evening, the magic in the air is even more palpable.
Why is it a power spot?
The waterfall and the area surrounding the old church are located in a particularly strong energy field. The best way to take advantage of this is to stand in front of the waterfall and slowly and deeply breathe in this fluid crystalline “light”.
