Intro
Since September 2015, LAC (Lugano Arte e Cultura) has been an impressive platform for contemporary creativity from southern Switzerland. The building by Ticino architect Ivano Gianola offers visitors art across 2500 square metres and a modern theatre and concert hall with space for 1000 guests.

The new LAC is hard to miss: The distinctive building by local architect Ivano Gianola is located, just a stone's throw from the lake, on Piazza Berardino Luini and makes an exciting contrast to its prominent neighbour from the 16th century, the Santa Maria degli Angioli church. Behind the massive window fronts, the cultural creativity of southern Switzerland finds plenty of space.
2500 square metres of exhibition space, spread across five floors, are dedicated to art. Here, changing exhibitions and the collection which resulted from the fusion of the Cantonal Art Museum (MASI) and the City of Lugano's Museum of Modern Art give you an understanding of the Ticinesi soul. The city is likewise proud of the theatre and concert hall with a mobile acoustic shell and the orchestra pit which can be lowered. The new LAC has also become a popular meeting point, thanks to the Gabbani snack bar. Gabbani has been a gourmet Lugano institution since 1937; favourites include crispy focaccia sandwiches with tasty salami and tangy cheese.
Seminar Hotel
On the last floor of LAC, accessible by lift directly from the hall or from the main staircase, are the multi-purpose rooms created for organising events such as meetings, conferences, aperitifs and dinners. Booking the entire floor enables you to organise corporate meetings, seminars or other work meetings requiring simultaneous use of several spaces. Sala 1, 2 and 3 are next to each other but not communicating in order to allow for greater
privacy. In addition, an office catering is available for the floor . Sala 4 is separate from the other ones and positioned above the Sala Teatro dressing rooms; it also has an office catering.
