A journey into the past
Overview
Intro
With its "Journey to the Past" theme, the permanent exhibition features archeological finds from Canton Zug. Life-like human figures, models of settlements, and stories bring everyday life in bygone days back to life.
Paleolithic hunters, pile dwelling builders, Iron Age traders, Roman women and early medieval warriors have all left their mark on Canton Zug. The large number of finds on display evidences some 20,000 years of history. Highlights include such pile dweller finds from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages as the unique double ax from Cham Eslen. Life-size scenes and vivid models make a museum visit a real experience for both young and old. The Children's Gallery is specifically geared to the needs of children. In the Paleolithic tent they can relax on furs and cushions, take some time out from walking around, and even do some exciting puzzles.
