Snowshoe tour starting in Lavin, right on the Inn River. The trail climbs through the lovely forests of the Engadin, enters the side valley and crosses the Aua da Zeznina creek. Beautiful Alp Zeznina is your interim destination before you return to the valley.
Description
The snowshoe tour begins in Lavin, a village with a population of just 200. After being destroyed by the great fire of 1869, it was rebuilt and was given some Italian features. The snowshoe tour now begins with the same Italian zest for life.
First take the bridge across the Inn. The loop tour starts on the left, heading in the direction of Vallatscha. The trail crosses a meadow and quickly enters the forest. It then climbs up to Las Charbuneras in a side valley and continues across Aua da Zeznina creek. After a few turns you reach Alp Zeznina Dadoura, the highest point of the tour. Stopping here for a few minutes, at an altitude of 1800 meters, is well worth it. The peacefulness and the exceptional surroundings are simply captivating.
On the way back you start at Alp Zeznina and continue via Muotta Preir and Pradafans where you leave the forest and enter a clearing. The last section via Laviner Suot closely follows the Inn River and takes you back to Lavin.
