Can only be reached on foot: the Napf
Intro
Ridge walk from the Bernese Emmental into Entlebuch (Lucerne canton). Stay overnight at the highest point.
Description
The Napf ridge formation can be climbed from all directions; this suggested route is not the shortest, but it affords some of the most impressive vistas. From Wasen in the Emmental, walk via Hambüel to the Voderarni and from there, stay close to the ridge as far as the Hinterarni with its renowned Alpine inn (restaurant). Further along the ridge are the Oberlus hut and the Niederänzi, both with meals/refreshments. The walk – and the panoramic views – reach a climax at the summit of the Napf.
The ridge path is also advisable for the descent, via Stächelegg, Champechnubel and Turner down to Escholzmatt. As far as Turner, this is a section of the "Napfbergland Border Trail".
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
