Clos du Doubs Bike
Overview
Intro
The Clos du Doubs in all its splendour. This route runs along the river and up its sides. Fantastic views over the extensive forests and green pastures beckon from the heights. Tranquil villages and the shady riverside path invite you to take a break along the way.
Description
The route starts in the small medieval town of St-Ursanne, where the narrow streets and historic collegiate church are well worth a visit. From there, the route follows the Doubs for seven kilometres on easy trails. A long ascent then leads to Epiquerez, partly on the road and unpaved paths. The landscapes you cross alternate between pastures and cultivated fields, with superb views extending to the Jura peaks.
Once you arrive in the village of Epauvillers, the route leads downhill across pastures to reach the Doubs. Back on the river bank, you have one more climb to negotiate before arriving at Le Poye farm. The path then passes through Tariche, where the restaurant, with its magnificent riverside terrace, invites you to take a break.
The last section crosses the covered wooden bridge of Ravines and continues to St-Ursanne.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
