Engadin Skate
Overview
Intro
The Engadin Skate offers a wonderfully scenic backdrop, fresh Alpine air, fine facilities and excellent surfaces. It is ideal for multi-sport training camps as well as for family outings.
Description
The Samedan inline circuit leads around the Engadine Airport which was opened in 1938. Particularly on the valley side of Muottas Muragl, the skating pleasure is undisturbed as the route is closed to traffic.
Between Gravatscha and the airfield on the village side, the skater shares the road with regular traffic. Despite the planes and helicopters landing and taking off, you will be able to enjoy the scenic diversity. The route is 5.3 km long and mostly flat. Only near Gravatscha, between the two bridges, there is a larger incline with a difference in altitude of around 20 metres.
However, the fascination of the route is not so much its length as the fact that it lies at an altitude of about 1700 metres in the midst of the picturesque mountain world of the Upper Engadine, mostly away from motor traffic and on almost perfect surfaces.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
