Description
Starting in the Swiss capital Bern, the first 65km are rather flat before a first 7.5km climb up to Saanenmöser. The next climb is around the corner – the Col des Mosses. Coming from Château d’Oex it is a 14km climb.
Following a long descent to Aigle the route follows the course of the Rhone River for a mainly flat section until Martigny. Here the road goes up again first slowly and then towards the Col de la Forclaz, a massive climb with an average gradient of 7.9% over 13km. After a short downhill, the closing climb up to the Emosson dam is demanding - 10.4km at an average 8.4% with the closing section steepest at 12.3%.
