Klewenalp-Ängi-Weg
Overview
Intro
The winter sports destination of Klewenalp-Stockhütte offer a wide range of highlights away from the ski pistes, too: one of these is the romantic winter trail hrough Ängi Valley with a superb view over Lake Lucerne.
Description
One of the most impressive sights the region has to offer is the panorama from the Klewenalp to the surrounding mountains and Lake Lucerne. A leisurely winter walk high above the valley mist provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the landscape especially intensively.
The longest cable car in Central Switzerland takes guests from Beckenried up to the Klewenalp (1600 m above sea level) to the starting point of the walk. The path winds its way past Klewen Chapel and then round the Klewenstock towards Stafel. Passing along a snow-covered stream, the Ängibach, the trail then passes through Ängi Valley, a beautiful wooded landscape that offers a view of Schwalmis, a mountain on the cantonal border to Uri. Once you have arrived at the Ängi chairlift, it's well worth taking another good look across the unspoilt Chol Valley.
Then there is another brief climb with the chairlift to the PanoramaBar, where a unique lake and mountain view lies in store once again. Brisen, Risetenstock and Schwalmis rise in majestic style – seemingly close enough to reach out and touch!
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
