Loipe Flond
Overview
Intro
The cross-country ski trail in Flond is the longest in the Obersaxen Mundaun municipality. Across meadows and through short, lightly wooded sections it describes several loops in the direction of Valata before it returns to Flond.
Description
Other than Surcuolm, Flond is the only Romansh-speaking village in Obersaxen Mundaun. The local cross-country ski trail of approximately 7 km is the municipality’s longest. It starts near the school where some parking spaces are available.
At first the trail is relatively flat and leads across a meadow until it begins to climb gently, followed by a few passages through the light forest to the hamlet of Valata. On the other side of the main road is a chairlift going up to the Cuolm Sura ski area.
Shortly before the forest, the trail turns. After crossing a meadow it enters another small forest. A few loops take you gently downhill and back to the starting point. For beginners, a shorter, easier loop trail is available in Flond.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
