This panoramic trail has earned its name. From the Feldis highlands, the view of the majestic Piz Beverin, Tödi and Calanda group is simply divine. The gently undulating route goes past a small lake and a natural ice field and around the Tgom Aulta.
Description
High above the Burgenland Domleschg on a sunny clearing at 1,500 metres above sea level lies the idyllic mountain village of Feldis. Unspoilt nature and a small, refined tourist offer make staying here a special experience. Even getting there is special. You can either take the mountain road or the cable car, which floats 200 metres above Rhine meadows, from Rhäzüns.
A chair lift (Feldis – Mutta), which starts just outside the village, takes winter hikers to the start of the panoramic trail. The chair lift joins the Feldis highlands to its almost legendary mountain surroundings: Piz Beverin, Tödi, Ringelspitz or Calanda, to name but a few peaks. From the mountain station (1,974m a.s.l.), you walk through the Feldis highlands, past the Leg Palus lake, all the time with a stunning view towards Surselva and Chur’s Rhine valley. The gently undulating path winds round Tgom Aulta (2,085m a.s.l.) and past Alp dil Plaun to the Feldis ski lodge and natural ice field with the Alp Raguta mountain lodge. On this side of Tgom Aulta, the view of Domleschg and Heinzenberg is sublime.
From here you can even see the Feldis – Mutta chair lift station, the end point of the hike. Fancy a bit of action to finish? As well as the cosy chair lift back to Feldis there is also an exciting sledge trail. You can rent sledges from the valley station.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
