Panoramaweg Unterbäch–Eischoll
Overview
Intro
The perfectly groomed winter hiking trail leads from Brandalp above Unterbäch all the way to Striigge near Eischoll – an easy walk with fantastic views of the peaks in the Rhone Valley.
Description
The panorama trail begins at Brandalp, which is reached by chairlift from Unterbäch in just a few minutes. Be sure not to miss the view of the peaks on the opposite side during the ride and the wintry Valais mountain village of Unterbäch. When you arrive at the top (1600 m), go past the cosy Alpenrösli mountain inn, where the path turns left and enters a spruce-larch forest flooded with light. After about 10 minutes, the forest opens up and the beautiful winter hiking trail begins to gently ascend, meandering up to Breite Stäg. Once there, relax for a while and enjoy the view of fantastic Bietschhorn.
After a last easy climb to the burbling Gorpat river you have reached the highest point of the route. From there, it is a pleasant walk through the snow-covered Wasu forest down to Egga mountain restaurant. The attractive panorama hike is never overly steep and with an altitude difference of 200 meters up and down, it is a wonderful tour for pleasure hikers. The chairlift takes you back to Eischoll. The quiet Valais village with its mountain restaurants and the views of the sparkling mountain scenery of the Rhone Valley is a perfect place to end the tour.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
