Rosenboden-Panoramaweg
Overview
Intro
On the way from Chäserrugg over Rosenböden high plateau winter hikers enjoy a breath-taking view to six countries and 500 summits.
Description
The funicular railway brings the guests from Unterwasser to Iltios and further with the cable car to Chäserrugg on 2262 m above sea level. The wonderful circular hiking trail leads from the summit building of Herzog & de Meuron over a sparse high plateau to Rosenböden and back again.
From a lofty height one can enjoy a spectacular view: in the South steep down to Walensee and to Grisons and Glarus Alps; in the East to the Alvier massif, which seems to be highly Alpine from here. Behind it Vorarlberg is visible; into the North the view goes to Alpstein, Toggenburg and the Rhine Valley far over the Lake Constance. An impressive sea of fog is often covering the valley, while on top the sun is shining. On the way there are several winter-proof benches, at which the panoramic view can be enjoyed. The circular trail is carefully prepared and can be walked by everyone with good shoes.
Back in the mountain station the restaurant offers local specialities and a modern wooden architecture, which emphasises traditional elements of local handcraft.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
