Schlittelweg Tenna
Overview
Intro
The toboggan run starts in the Ausserberg district of Tenna, right next to the world’s first solar ski lift. Thanks to the easy terrain, the descent is ideal for a family outing. It runs gently over the wide slopes and past Walser houses. At the end, the postbus takes sledgers back to the village.
Description
The innovative mountain village of Tenna in the Safien Valley has made headlines with the world’s first solar ski lift, powered by 82 solar wings consisting of three panels each. Surplus energy is fed into the Safien Valley’s municipal power station.
The toboggan run starts right next to the solar ski lift in the Ausserberg district of the village. From there, it first passes by some old Walser houses. Sledgers soon leave the village behind as the run gently winds its way over the wide slopes and into a wooded section. A series of sweeping turns leads them down to the road towards Tenna.
From there, the postbus provides a convenient ride back to Tenna; the local postbus connections are advertised at the starting point. Athletic sledgers can make their way back to the village on foot.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
