The quays of Morges
Overview
Intro
An emblematic walk in Morges, the quays are in bloom all year round, with the Alps in the background.
Whether it's an easy way to cross Morges, a sunny stroll or a jog, the quays are a must-see part of the town. On either side, they link the Parc de l'Indépendance to the Parc de Vertou. Flowered for most of the year, they are a showcase for the horticultural art that characterises Morges.
From July to the end of October, more than 2,200 dahlias are planted for the occasion, between the temple and the Parc de Vertou. The public can take a stroll, on foot or aboard the Little Tourist Train, to discover around a hundred varieties spread over a kilometre (Quai Igor-Stravinski).
Other events take place here every year, including the famous Book on the Quays event for literature lovers at the beginning of September and the Dahlia Festival from July to the end of October.
The quays are adapted to accommodate people with reduced mobility and form part of a 6km route on SwitzerlandMobility known as the Promenade Littoral de Morges. This magnificent walk takes you through the lively old town of Morges, the peaceful Parc de l'Indépendance, then guides you towards the majestic castle before ending at the picturesque harbour.
