ViaJacobi - Fascinating route to spiritual salvation
Overview
Intro
Route: Konstanz (D)/Rorschach - Einsiedeln - Willisau/Brienz - Freiburg - Payerne/Romont-Lausanne - Geneva
The pilgrimage to the shrine of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela (northern Spain) is one of the most important spiritual traditions in Europe. As part of the European Way of St. James, the ViaJacobi passes along the foot of the Alps from Lake Constance to Geneva – right through the heart of Switzerland. Like pearls on a chain, chapels, churches and hostels are lined up one after the other along the ViaJacobi and, together with the cultural landscape that is crammed with variety, make for a fantastic hiking experience.
