With Sissi in Montreux
Overview
Intro
Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, Elisabeth von Wittelsbach, better known as Sissi, loved to flee to the fashionable resort of Montreux when courtly duties started to pall.
In the last five years of her life, she came back time and again to Lake Geneva. She liked to explore the region and took trips, for instance, to Rochers-de-Naye and Bex, enjoying the unique lake and mountain panorama. But her life came to a sudden and tragic end when she was murdered by an anarchist while travelling in Geneva in September 1898. Aboard a beautiful vintage minibus, visitors explore the splendour of the Belle Epoque and follow the trail of the unforgettable Empress Elizabeth. The tour takes you through the idyllic scenery of the Riviera to the favourite monuments of the Empress (historic hotels, castles, churches). During this tour you will listen to many fascinating anecdotes about Sissi.
