Intro

This year's Chile Walk, with its picture-book story of the donkey Napoleon and his experiences, winds its way through the village of Wald. At various stations, there are opportunities to play, craft, or linger.

Chile Path 2026 Just in time for Mother's Day weekend, the interactive Chile Path begins, inspired by the picture book "The Donkey Napoleon" by Regine Schindler with illustrations by Eleonore Schmid. Various stations around the town tell the story of Mara and her donkey Napoleon. In addition to the ongoing story, there are prompts and game ideas for children and adults. There’s also a competition to join in. Let yourself be surprised! The short routes have been carefully selected to be stroller-friendly. The path can be followed via smartphone or, in true old-school style, with a paper map. If you’re curious, you can start the journey on Saturday, May 9, at the Reformed Church. It will remain open until Whit Monday, May 25, 2026, so it can be enjoyed by everyone staying home over Ascension Day or Pentecost.
