Overview
Intro
Becoming – Being – Passing Away The most famous work by painter Giovanni Segantini comprises three paintings.
The Triptych of the Alps features scenes illustrating the cycle of life. During this hike, venture into the mountains that inspired the painter. The starting point of the Senda Segantini is in Savognin, near the Peterelli house, where Giovanni Segantini lived for eight years. Fully enjoy the moment as you pass through the Septimer and Maloja passes, which offer magnificent views. This invigorating hike ends with an ascent to the Segantini hut. At the time of his death on the Schafberg, above Pontresina, the painter had before his eyes his beloved mountains and glaciers. Life, nature, and death: this hike will reveal to you the three-part harmony of the Grison Alps.
