The Engadin can be found in the south-east of Switzerland in

Discover the Engadin
You can reach the Engadin from all directions. But you won’t find a journey quite like the one by train on the
UNESCO-listed Albula/Bernina route to
St. Moritz. On a short foray through the illustrious town, discover the Chesa Veglia, one of the Engadin’s oldest farmhouses. Local products such as wooden sculptures, honey or dried meat can be found in
Pontresina or
Silvaplana. In
Bever and
Zuoz, the sgraffiti-decorated facades are delightful, and in
Samedan, you can look forward to the
mineral baths & spa. You can enjoy a spectacular view of the Engadin from popular excursion mountain
Muottas Muragl.
Engadin lakes
The Engadin is characterised by four large mountain lakes as well as many smaller ones. Where the “Segl-Maria” sails across
Lake Sils in the warmer months, anglers try their hand at ice fishing in winter. When the Maloja wind blows, windsurfing and kitesurfing fans can be seen having fun on Lake Silvaplana. For the illustrious White Turf horse racing event, the frozen Lake St. Moritz is transformed into a racecourse in winter. And what is probably the most beautiful cross-country ski route leads over all four frozen lakes.

Mountains, valleys, lakes, and the best infrastructure: you can be sure that you will never get bored in the Engadin. From spring to autumn, you can look forward to hiking trails,
mountain bike trails,
golf courses and, of course, aquatic sports of all kinds. Winter in the Engadin is legendary, with its cross-country ski trails,
snow parks and extensive ski areas. On the snow safari, you can discover nine of the most beautiful slopes in one day. A favourite secondary pastime in the Engadin? Soaking up the sun on the terrace of a mountain restaurant.
Around the Engadin
The Engadin is the ideal starting point for top excursions: experience the fairytale Val Bever, the
Lower Engadin with the villages of
Guarda and
Scuol, or the Bernina Pass with
Lago Bianco and Lago Nero. Over the
Maloja Pass, you’ll come to
Val Bregaglia with the mountain village of
Soglio. At the other end of the valley is
Zernez, gateway to the wilderness of the
national park.
