Maloja is located in the east of Switzerland. The pass village in the Upper Engadine is a popular destination due to its location in the middle of mountains, lakes and hiking trails.

Maloja is best explored on foot. Start with a walk along Lake Sils or through the Palü Marcia moor. At the Belvedere Tower, learn more about the artist Giovanni Segantini, who lived here. For families, the nature trail to the glacier mills offers exciting insights.

Lake Sils and surroundings

Lake Sils near Maloja invites you to Baden, boat trips or stand-up paddling in summer. In winter, the lake can be used for ice skating if the ice is thick enough. The Maloja Pass leads through panoramic trails and offers a variety of biking and hiking opportunities with a view of glaciers and waterfalls.

Segantini and culture

Giovanni Segantini, the famous painter of the Engadine, made Maloja his home. His former residential tower is now a small museum. The region continues to inspire many artists. Small galleries, concerts and readings show how lively the cultural scene is here.
