Experiences in Lake Thun Region

Oberhofen Castle with its medieval keep and lake tower is located on the shore of Lake Thun. The castle, which dates back to the early 13th century, houses a living museum. The large castle park is supposed to be one of the most magnificent in the region of the Alps.

The medieval castle above the town of Thun is a striking focal point at the entrance to the Bernese Oberland region. This almost completely preserved symbol of power contains the Knights' Hall, one of the few surviving halls of its type from the Middle Ages.

A summer highlight for families. The story of the forest creature “Grimmimutz”, his friend Spillgert, the evil pepper witch and her husband Lothar can be enjoyed on the hiking loop in Schwenden.

Today, the castle reflects the change from a medieval castle to a patrician residence.

In just ten minutes, the panorama funicular takes guests from Interlaken up to its local mountain Harder Kulm.

The Gwunderwasser Playground in the Diemtigtal Valley (Tiermatti, Schwenden) guarantees exciting experiences for young and old on the water.

The regional museum dedicated to tourism presents on three floors the development of travel for pleasure and breaks in the Jungfrau region. Opened in 1980, the museum of tourism in Interlaken is the first and only museum of its kind comprehensively and exclusively dedicated to the history of tourism.
