Intro
On the sunny side of Wildhaus the Alp Gamplüt is located with breath-taking views to the Churfirsten. Up to the mountain it goes comfortably with the first solar cableway, down the slope then again fast with a “Schneetrotti”, sledge or bob.
Description
Toggenburg has more to offer than just the seven Churfirsten. Nevertheless, these are of course very pretty. Most impressive are the rocky spikes from a respective distance – from the opposite valley side facing the sun. And those enjoying a Schümlipflümli (coffee with plum brandy) and then want to sledge back into the valley, are absolutely right at Gamplüt.
And how are you going there? Of course with the Gamplüt railway, which is in operation 365 days of the year – by the way a “real and the first solar cableway of the world”. Enough said about the cableway – although we are of course most interested in the leisure offers in near distance, in particular the sledging run. It leads from Gamplüt over Lisigweid and Steinrüti back to Wildhaus and can – besides the classical wooden sledge – also be used for riding the “Monster Trottinett”.
But please not too fast: the great view to the Churfirsten mountain range and to the valley of Wildhaus, as well as the idyllic nature along the footpath are worth a break.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
