Intro
Before him opens up the beautiful expanse of the sparkling lake, on the horizon a mountain ridge crowns the panorama, and when Adam turns around, he sees the fairytale art nouveau facade of the Hotel Vitznauerhof. A taste for adventure led Adam Danics from Hungary to Switzerland, where he fell in love with Lake Lucerne and the mountains. He is now a pool attendant at the Hotel Vitznauerhof, and still finds his surroundings awe-inspiring.

Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Lucerne in Vitznau, the hotel is attentive to the personal needs of its guests and serves a delectable menu.

Six light-filled modular meeting rooms with lake views are connected to the hotel by an underground tunnel, while secluded spots by the lake provide the perfect place to gather your thoughts. Often guests come to the hotel for a seminar and then extend their stay and bring their family.
In summer Adam is mainly responsible for the large hotel park and the boat taxi.
Vitznau’s lake attendant
The only pool attendant without a pool – but a lake instead. As well as helping guests to moor their boats at the hotel and sometimes even chauffeuring them himself, he also teaches guests stand-up paddling or kayaking, paints the dock, looks after the garden furniture and ensures that all the equipment needed for seminars is available and in good working order, with the right settings in place.
If I had to organise a seminar, I would choose the Vitznauerhof. It is both small enough to provide inspiration with its intimate setting and large enough to provide everything you might need.
The boat taxi
The best thing in summer? When Adam collects guests in Lucerne with the hotel’s own boat: he points out the main mountain peaks to his passengers with the enthusiasm of a real fan. These personal touches make the Vitznauerhof all the more special. Where else is it possible to combine work and recreation so seamlessly?
Famous guests
The hotel’s distinctive flair and bewitching views have attracted many famous guests
. Hermann Hesse stayed here, as did Richard Strauss, General Guisan and Paul Klee. Princess
Gina of Liechtenstein occupied an entire floor for a time.
It is fascinating to see how the new management team is breathing a youthful spirit into the venerable hotel.
