Iseltwald is a small village on Lake Brienz and is internationally known from the series «Crash Landing on You». The peninsula lies in the Bernese Oberland between Interlaken and Brienz in the canton of Bern.

A walk through the lanes lined with old wooden houses reveals the village’s original character. On the lakeshore lies the pier in the bay that became famous through the series «Crash Landing on You». From the Farnihubel viewpoint, you can see the peninsula with Seeburg Castle and the small island in front of it. In the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz, you can swim, kayak or go stand-up paddling.
Iseltwald Bay
Iseltwald Bay with its wooden pier is one of the most photographed places on Lake Brienz. A scene from the South Korean series «Crash Landing on You» made the location internationally famous and attracts fans from all over the world. Early in the morning, you can experience the bay at its quietest before the day visitors arrive.
Hiking to the Giessbach Falls
From Iseltwald, you can hike along a lakeside trail of around 5 kilometres to the Giessbach Falls. The route along Lake Brienz is considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Switzerland. After 1.5 hours, you reach the 400-metre-high waterfall with its 14 cascades and the Grandhotel Giessbach. You can conveniently return by boat across the lake.
Around Iseltwald
By boat, you can explore the whole of Lake Brienz. In Brienz, discover the tradition of woodcarving and the starting point of the Brienz Rothorn Railway. The Ballenberg Open-Air Museum with historic buildings from across Switzerland is also nearby. Interlaken and the Jungfrau Region can also be reached quickly from Iseltwald.
